Our Story
Yelo Autosports has been the Twin Cities' trusted automotive detailing studio since 2015 — built from a two-car garage into a full-service paint protection film, ceramic coating, and window tint shop.
Our mission hasn't changed: deliver the highest quality of work while keeping you fully informed along the way. We continually study our craft so every process, and every result, meets the standard your vehicle deserves.
We're not just a car wash. We're your local guides for auto detailing, window tint, and paint protection film across Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
About the Founder
Tou Lo founded Yelo Autosports on the values that have defined his life: discipline, service, and doing things the right way. Born in France to Hmong parents who fled the war in Vietnam, Tou immigrated to the U.S. as a child, learning early that success is built through resilience and pride in your craft.
At 18, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where precision and accountability became second nature. By 25, he was a full-time Firefighter/EMT in Saint Paul — a career built on trust, teamwork, and performing under pressure. For six years he ran Yelo Autosports alongside the fire service, then left the department after nine years to lead it full-time.
Today, Tou leads Yelo Autosports' paint protection film, ceramic coating, and detailing team with that same discipline, while training for marathons and Ironman-distance triathlons. That relentless pursuit of excellence is the standard behind every vehicle we protect across the Twin Cities.
Meet the Team
Phil - Master Tinter
Phil is our master tinter at Yelo Autosports, with thousands of cars under his belt—he knows every trick in the book and probably wrote a few of them. Beyond his tinting skills, Phil is our walking encyclopedia for all things cars, making him our go-to guy for every automotive question imaginable.
Adam - PPF Installer
Adam, our PPF installer at Yelo Autosports, is one of the fastest learners you’ll ever meet—if there were a speed limit for picking up new skills, he'd be in trouble! His immense patience, essential for any great installer, is matched only by his passion for his craft. When he's not perfecting paint protection films, you can find him fishing, where his patience really pays off.
Anthony - Lead Detailer
Anthony is our resident auto detailing expert with a unique set of skills—his love for fishing and anime! With the patience of an avid fisherman and the determination of an anime protagonist, he battles swirls and defects like they’re villains in his favorite show. Anthony is always on a quest to achieve the final stage: a perfectly clean and swirl-free ride!

QR Detailing — Bazouges, France
We trained alongside Quentin of QR Detailing, a respected ceramic coating and paint protection film specialist, comparing installation technique, product selection, and quality-control standards. Learning from top European installers keeps our PPF and ceramic coating work sharp for every car we protect in the Twin Cities.
Pumpkin Auto — Montville, France
We visited Benoît, owner of Pumpkin Auto, a French detailing and PPF studio we've long admired. Comparing European and American paint systems side by side helped us refine our detailing and paint protection film installation process, raising the standard behind every vehicle we protect.
Mira Auto Wellness — Alte Bleiche, Germany
We teamed up with Mira Auto Wellness for a day of hands-on PPF training, from precision installation methods to an efficient team workflow. Their smart facility design — a parking lot built above the workshop — showed us new ways to refine our own paint protection film process.
Bavaria Motors — Harelbeke, Belgium
At Bavaria Motors, we sat down with Bart, their Gtechniq ceramic coating and PPF installer, to compare paint correction and protection techniques. The insights we brought home strengthened our Gtechniq ceramic coating and PPF process for clients across Saint Paul and Minneapolis.
Sud Esthetique 77 — Châtelet-en-Brie, France
We teamed up with Julien and his team at Sud Esthetique 77, trading paint correction techniques and finishing tips inside their beautifully designed shop. It was a hands-on exchange that sharpened our eye for detail and our approach to every finish.
Perfect Detailing — Lille, France
We connected with Mikael of Perfect Detailing, a fellow Gtechniq ceramic coating installer, to trade techniques and business insight. His sustainably engineered shop, including a rainwater reuse system for washes, inspired new ideas we've brought back to sharpen our craft.
Renny Doyle — Master Detailer Certification
We completed a five-day certification with Renny Doyle, the master detailer behind Detail Mafia — the team trusted to detail Air Force One. The course covered exterior and interior detailing, wet sanding, and paint touch-up at an elite level, sharpening the advanced techniques we bring to every detailing job in the Twin Cities.
Yvan Lacroix — DIY Detail Training
We trained under Yvan Lacroix, a 35-year detailing veteran, Brand Ambassador for Lake Manufacturing, and owner of DIY Detail — formerly VP of Opti-Coat and Director of Training at Polymer Technologies. His advanced techniques and industry insight now shape the auto detailing services we deliver across the Twin Cities.
